My mystery weapon team has a suitable gap to accept various spare weapons (or maybe their weapon has a cloaking device?) Here they are with a couple of missile launchers.
The launchers come from GZG's SG15-HW5 heavy weapon pack. The pack included a pair if tripod plasma guns too but I've only got the missile pods ready to use so far.
And so ends weapon week, but stay tuned for BLIP - the "Badger Life Improvement Programme"! All will be revealed at a computer near you very soon...
Could even use them sans launcher.. instead a sudden beam of light stabs down from the heavens ;)
ReplyDeleteAfter this run of painting, how have you found the flash on these models so far?
Generally no flash on any of the GZG models I've had. I do find that the mould lines are more obvious on some than others. The majority are only a couple of minutes to clean up, if that, but I did have one pack of Islamic Federation where the mould had slipped over half a millimetre out of alignment. Doesn't sound like much but by the time you've cleaned it up on both sides of the model, legs are almost 1mm thinner - a considerable change at this scale! Might have been because it was an older mould?
DeleteOn the whole though I've found GZG figures very easy - and because of the integral bases, no need to glue them onto anything else either (except the weapon teams).
Good idea. Are the weapons and bases magnetised?
ReplyDeleteNo, although I do have a large supply of neodymium magnets waiting to be used for such things.
DeleteI do have a sizeable Titan battlegroup using old-style plastic "Adeptus Titanicus" Warlords, I've magnetised all their weapons to make it very quick & easy to swap configurations before a battle.
A larg epart of my Full Thrust fleet are attached to their bases with magnets too, although anything larger (ie. heavier) than a light cruiser and they start to wobble and fall off...
Nicely done! The Micropanzer Gun Drones are almost exactly the same size as those launchers. They'd fit well on the same bases.

I also have a number of missile launchers cut off Mechwarrior clicky figures, they'd fit nicely too.
